Sacramento, Calif.- Anna Brown (Elk Grove, Calif./Elk Grove) of the Cosumnes River women’s soccer team has been selected as the CRC Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 25-31.

Brown led the Hawks to a 0-0 draw against Nor Cal regional rival Solano on the road this past weekend, in Fairfield, Calif.  She recorded four saves to shut out the Falcons, putting CRC in position to play to a draw, in her debut performance this season.  Brown currently has a 0-0-1 record this season heading into the second week.

The sophomore goalkeeper returns following a standout freshman campaign, leading the Hawks  to the Northern California regional final, and one victory short of advancing to the Final Four.  Brown earned the Student-Athlete of the Week honor three times last season, and was one of three Hawks to earn it from the women’s soccer team.

This is Brown’s first CRC Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season, as well as the first for the women’s soccer team.  Brown will make her home debut this week, as the Hawks return home for a pair of matches against two of the CCCAA’s top programs.  CRC will host City College of San Francisco this Friday (Sept. 5), before hosting two-time defending CCCAA state champion Cerritos on Sunday (Sept. 7).
