Owen Signed by the Braves

Owen Signed by the Braves

Right after the draft ended, the Atlanta Braves reached out and signed Catcher Harrison (Harry) Owen to a deal. The Hawks now have a hole as their starting battery have both left for the MLB.

Harry was a key cog in the Hawk offense serving as the starting catcher and leadoff man. Owen paced the offense with a .377 average, 11 homeruns and 53 RBIs on the season, all of which led the team. Harry also walked more than he struck out on the season (18 to 16) which an impressive statistic when compared to his 162 plate appearances, which equates to striking out less than 10% of the time. On the defensive end, Owen threw out 13 attempted runners.

When compared to the state numbers, Owen was 7th in homeruns, and 12th in RBIs. Owen was the main catcher for the Hawks this season showing amazing durability playing in 38 of the team's 40 games.
