Sports Medicine

Cosumnes River College is proud of its sports medicine program and facilities. The athletic trainers offer quality medical care to the student athletes at CRC.  They are responsible for the prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of our student athletes’ injuries. The athletic trainers are first on the scene when an injury occurs and it is their responsibility to evaluate the injury and determine the first (and subsequent) course of action. Those actions often are treatment and rehabilitation in the athletic training room by our staff.

One of the objectives of the athletic training program is to return the injured athlete back to full activity, as quickly and safely as possible. The athletic trainers are able to provide individual, focused care allowing the athlete to return to their pre-injury performance level. Whatever the case may be, it is up to the athletic trainers to make the correct assessment and plot the proper course for full recovery.
