The Cosumnes River Hawks (1-0) win a close one, 3-0 at Conway Field to open the season vs Shasta college (0-1). It started as a pitchers duel with Josh Congress leading the way. Josh Congress had 7 strike outs in five scoreless innings. Daniel Vitoria ended up with the win throwing 3 scoreless innings for the Hawks. The first save of the season went to John Treat who had a nerve racking 9th inning.

The offense didn't come until late in the game for the Hawks. Joey Pancratz broke the game open with an RBI double in the gap. Pancratz also drew 3 walks in the contest. The Hawks will play Skyline college (0-2) for the first game of a 3 game series Tuesday the 30th. The game will start at 2pm at Conway Field.
