Cosumnes River Hawks (3-0) rally to have a big bottom of the 4th inning scoring 6 runs to beat Skyline college (0-3). It was a big day at the plate for Aaron Pierce who went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and a triple. Also, Alex Crouch got things going for the team going 2 for 4 with a homerun in the bottom of the 8th inning. Jeremy Kolb continues with his hot bat with 2 more hits on the day. The game started going the Hawks way after Damien Chavez hit a huge 2 run double in the 4th to put the Hawks up.
The big story was the veteran John Treat on the mound who looked to be in control the whole game. Treat shut Skyline down for 6 and 2/3 innings giving him his first win of the season. As Skyline looked to try and get back into the game, Corey Potthoff came in to make a critical tough play defensively to shut down the momentum. Cosumnes Hawks will play game 2 of the 3 game series Thursday, February 1st at Conway Field at 2pm.
