The Cosumnes River Hawks (11-6) start league off with a 11 to 4 win against American River College (5-10). Josh Congress (4-1) was spectacular in his start on the mound Tuesday, pitching 6 innings with 6 strike outs and no earned runs. John Treat and Brennon Berninger closed the game out, giving the hawks 3 innings combined with no earned runs.
The Hawks first six hitters in the lineup did most the work Tuesday. Burle Dixon, Aaron Pierce, Joey Pankratz, Damien Chavez, Alex Crouch and Jared Alameida combined for a total of 12 hits and 7 RBI's. The Hawks will face the Beavers 2 more times this week starting wednesday at 2pm.
