The Cosumnes River Hawks (11-8, 1-2 Big 8) lose a closely contested battle with American River College (7-10, 2-1 Big 8) 5 to 2. American River had a big 2nd inning scoring 4 runs. That would be all that American River needed as they only gave up 2 earned runs. Daniel Vitoria looked good on the mound, as he kept the Hawks close in the last 3 innings.
The Hawks grounded into 4 double plays in the contest. It seemed every time the Hawks would look to have a big inning, it would be instantly stopped by a double play. Things weren't in the cards for the Hawks in this series as ARC won 2 out of 3 games. The Hawks will look to bounce back as they face Diablo Valley College (7-9, 2-1 Big 8) in a 3 game series this week.
