The Cosumnes River Hawks (13-10, 3-4 Big 8) start a three game series off with a bang against the Folsom Lake Falcons (13-6, 2-5 Big 8) wednesday afternoon. John treat gave the Hawks a chance as he went 5 and 1/3 innings. Relievers Daniel Vitoria and Corey Potthoff did a fantastic job making sure the Hawks held the win.
The Hawks had their struggles early in the game offensively, only able to put together 3 runs. In the bottom of the 9th inning some heroics came from Aaron Pierce in a 5 to 3 ball game. With two outs in the inning, Aaron was facing a one ball and two strike count, and manages to hit a two run homerun on the next pitch to send the game into extra innings. Lastly, with a runner on first and third Jared Alameida lines a ball to right center for a huge walk off victory.
