The Cosumnes River Hawks (14-10, 4-4 Big 8) shut out the Folsom Lake Falcons (13-7, 2-6 Big 8) 8-0 Sunday afternoon. Josh Congress (6-2) was terrific throwing 6 full innings striking out 12 batters. AJ Wood, Brennon Berninger, and Kyle Galart closed the game out to seal the shut out.
The offense was lead by Damien Chavez and Dean Lucas who both contributed two hits with two scored runs in the contest. Lucas, also stole two bases which put him in scoring position. Jared Alameida and Aaron Pierce provided two hits as the Hawks maintained a steady offense throughout the day.
