The Cosumnes River Hawks (14-15, 4-9 Big 8) lose a close game to the Sierra College Wolverines (20-5, 9-1 Big 8) 12 to 10. Timmy Tarrant and Nic Wilson stopped an early push for Sierra throwing two solid innings combined. This allowed the Hawks to have a big inning of their own, as they took the lead with a 7 run fifth inning. This offense was lead by Aaron Pierce, who hit 2 home runs with 4 RBI's on the day.
The Hawks relievers were not able to hold Sierra, giving up 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th and 7th innings. The Hawks, down by two runs in the top of the ninth were unable to score after a lead off single by Jared Alameida. The Hawks will face Sierra at home for the second game of a three game series Thursday.
