The Cosumnes River College Hawks (16-19) lose a close game to San Joaquin Delta (27-4) 2 to 7. The Hawks started off the game hitting line drives all over the yard. All those hard hit balls seemed to find a Delta defender. Joey Pankratz and Aaron Pierce both had two hits on the day, provided most of the Hawks offense.
The Hawks pitching struggled early in the game giving up 5 earned runs in 3 innings. The pitchers found a way to slow the Delta offense, keeping the game in reach. The Hawks had a couple defensive blunders late in the game pushing them away from a come back. The Hawks will have a home game Thursday against Delta for the second game of three.
