Josh Congress Keeps Hawks Close

The Cosumnes River Hawks (17-20) lose to the number one team in the north San Joaquin Delta (28-6) 3 to 11. Josh Congress kept the game close for the Hawks striking out 7 Delta batters. Delta found a way to keep adding runs later in the game pushing CRC further away. The difference in the game was Hawks inability to get hits with runners in scoring position.

The Hawks had a total of 8 hits in the contest. The problem they had was all 8 hits came in the first two innings of the game. The Hawks only had 2 hits in the last 7 innings. Cosumnes will look to make a late playoff run next week, as they face Modesto College for a three game series.
