Hawks Defeat Trojans

SAN BRUNO (1-31) – The Hawks traveled to San Bruno for their first road game of the year to take on Skyline College. The Hawks defeated the Trojans 7-3.

The Hawks won their last game against Mendocino College 8-3 in Sacramento on Tuesday while the Trojans split their series with Fresno City College in San Bruno.

The Hawks had runners on base in every inning and scored in the third, fifth and seventh innings. Aggressive base running was key for the Hawks in this exciting win.

Owen Hunt got the start on the mound and was followed on the mound by Kyle Galart. Joey Pankratz got the win retiring eight, six coming by strike out. Brian Freitas got the save.

Burle Dixon Jr. had one hit, two walks, five stolen bases and had three runs scored. JD Mico scored twice after reaching once on a walk and once by an error in addition to swiping a couple of bases. Greg Creamer, Alex Crouch, Jeremy Kolb and Griffin Selby had hits. EJ Brown and Dean Lucas both added to the Hawks' stolen base total.

On Friday, the Hawks and Trojans had to suspend play in the eleventh inning due to weather conditions and darkness. The game will be continued on March 21st at Conway Field in Sacramento.

The next game for the Hawks is Thursday as they take on Lassen College at Conway Field in Sacramento. First pitch is set for 2 pm.
