SACRAMENTO (2-7) – The Hawks returned home to take on Lassen College. The Hawks defeated the Cougars 6-2.
The Hawks won their last game 7-4 over Skyline College last Thursday in San Bruno while Lassen lost 17-4 to Sierra College in Rocklin last Thursday win over visiting Lassen.
Burle Dixon was 2-4 with a triple and a double. Dixon also scored twice in Thursday's contest. Dean Lucas went 2-2 and was walked twice. Lucas had an RBI and scored twice. Aubrey, Brown, and Kolb each had a hit apiece. Jorge Montoya had a RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning that scored Joey Pankratz.
Josh Caldwell started on the mound for the Hawks and struck out five in his two innings of work. Nic Wilson, Kyle Galart, Troy Davis, Brian Freitas, and Ethan Torres all saw time on the mound.
Galart got the win for the Hawks and Jesse Dunham received the loss for the Cougars.
The next game for the Hawks will be Tuesday as they take on Chabot College in Sacramento at 2 pm.
