Defense Does the Trick as Hawks Win Series

SACRAMENTO (2-18) – The Hawks completed a three game series with College of the Sequoias at Conway Field. The Hawks won 4-0 to win the season series over the Giants.

Starting pitcher Owen Hunt went three complete innings. Hunt would keep a clean sheet during his time on the mound. Kyle Galart would come on in relief. Galart took the mound and kept the Giants at bay. In six innings of work, Galart recorded six strikeouts and allowed no runs. Hunt and Galart gave the Hawks' pitching staff their second shutout of the year.

Jorge Montoya scored twice and Essex Brown and Alex Crouch scored once. Greg Creamer was 2-4. Four players – Brown, Burle Dixon, JD Mico, and Joey Pankratz each had a hit.

Kyle Galart got the win for the Hawks while Cade Sakamoto got the loss.

The Hawks will take on Chabot College on Tuesday at Conway Field.
