Hawks Beat Gladiators 6-3

SACRAMENTO (2-19) – A day after winning a three-game series with College of the Sequoias at Conway Field, the Hawks hosted Chabot College for the second time in a week. The Hawks defeated the Gladiators 6-3 to win the season series.

The Hawks were coming off the aforementioned three game series with College of the Sequoias while the Gladiators were coming off a 7-3 win over Ohlone College in Fremont on Saturday.

The Hawks' offense was led by Burle Dixon. Dixon had two hits and scored twice. Dean Lucas had two hits and scored. Clay Duval and EJ Brown both had a hit and a run scored to help the Hawks' totals. Brian Freitas reached on a walk and scored. Griffin Selby and Alex Crouch had a hit apiece to help the Hawks' offense.

Nic Wilson started on the mound for the Hawks and put in three innings of work. Joey Pankratz followed Wilson with three innings of his own. Brenden Murray threw one inning of relief and Griffin Selby threw the final two innings.

Pankratz was the winning pitcher for the Hawks and Mark Turnquist got the loss for the Gladiators.

The Hawks play next on Thursday at Merced College.
