Hawks Defeats Falcons in First Game of Series

SACRAMENTO (3-7) – The Hawks started their second Big 8 Conference series of the year as they took Folsom Lake College. With Folsom Lake unable to use their home field, the first game of the series took place at Conway Field with the Falcons as the home team. The Hawks won 11-4 over the Falcons.

Both teams went 2-1 in their opening Big 8 Conference series with the Hawks defeating Sacramento City College and the Falcons defeating American River College.

Josh Caldwell started on the mound for the Hawks. Caldwell went six innings. Brenden Murray, Alex Crouch and Kyle Galart worked out of the bullpen.

Brett Graber and Essex Brown led the way for Hawks offensively. Graber went 3-5 with four RBIs. Brown went 1-4 with four RBIs. Griffin Selby was 2-4 with an RBI. Dean Lucas was 3-5. Clay Duval earned two walks and would score both times reaching base.

Caldwell got the win for the Hawks while Andrew Vaughn got the loss for the Falcons. Galart earned a save.

The Hawks and the Falcons will play the second game of their series tomorrow at 2 pm at Conway Field
