Wilson Has Great Outing as Hawks Beat Falcons

SACRAMENTO (3-11) – Cosumnes River played the third game of their Big 8 Conference series against Folsom Lake College at Conway Field. The Hawks defeated the Falcons 13-1.

Nic Wilson got the ball to start the game for the Hawks. Wilson threw 5.1 innings of shutout baseball as he walked two, hit one batter and allowed three hits. He also recorded eight strikeouts on the afternoon. Kyle Galart came on in relief for 1.2 innings. Jorge Garcia came on to relieve Galart. Garcia saw two innings on the mound.

The Hawks offense had twelve hits. Dean Lucas and Griffin Selby each had three hits and two RBIs. Lucas would score twice and Selby once. Mark Aubrey, Ryan Barry, Alex Crouch, Burle Dixon, Clay Duval and Jorge Montoya had a hit apiece. Aubrey, Essex Brown, Dixon and Brett Graber all scored twice. Joey Pankratz and Nick McCormick scored one run apiece.

The Hawks will start their next Big 8 Conference series against Sierra College on Tuesday in Rocklin.
