Hawks Get Back On Track with Win over Knights

REDDING (3-19) – The Hawks hit the road to take on Shasta College in Redding. The Hawks ended their three-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the Knights.

In their last series, the Hawks were coming off a 3-0 series loss to Sierra College while the Knights won their last series 2-1 over College of the Redwoods.

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead with six runs in the first two innings of play. Alex Crouch and Dean Lucas led the way for the Hawks. Lucas went 3-5 with an RBI and scored twice. Crouch went 2-5 with two RBIs and scored once. Clay Duval, Jeremy Kolb and Joey Pankratz added a hit and an RBI apiece.

Nic Wilson started on the mound for the Hawks. Wilson went five complete innings. Owen Hunt and Kyle Galart worked in relief. Wilson struck out six batters and Galart struck out three.

The Hawks will return home to face Skyline College on Thursday. The two teams must first finish a continuation game from February 1st in which the two teams were tied at eight before the game was suspended due to weather and darkness. The suspended game starts at noon.
