Tuesday marked the first day of Big 8 conference play for the Hawks and it did not go the way things were planned. The Hawks (7-7, 0-1 Big 8) entered the first game of the three game set vs. ARC with Sophomore Ace Owen Hunt (Folsom HS) on the mound and unfortunately it just was not his day. The Hawks fell to the Beavers 14 to 10 in a very poorly played game. The Hawks walked 11 hitters and committed 8 errors in the field on the day.

The offense got off to a hot start in the bottom of the second inning when Freshman Bryson McArn (Pleasant Grove HS) led the inning off with a single to left, then Sophomore Taylor Maldonado (Bear Creek HS) got on base with an ARC fielders choice. Two hitters later super hot Freshman Lakeal Morris (Folsom HS) singled in both runners and the Hawks took a 3 to 1 lead. The lead was short lived and the next three innings saw the Beavers put up 12 runs in the next three innings of play. The Hawks never stopped fighting their way back into the game on offense. Scoring seven runs in the final four innings but the comeback was short lived. Freshman Gabriel Ramirez (Capital Christian HS) hit a two run homer to left centerfield in the bottom of the 8th to try and spark the Hawks to make a comeback but were held scoreless in the bottom half of the 9th inning.

Offensive player highlights:

Morris 3x5 4 RBI's

McArn 2x5
