Hawks Soar Into First!

Hawks Soar Into First!

It started out as just another game where a hot shooting visiting team, as well as some turnover issues early, combined to put the Hawks in a position of falling out of first place in the conference. Coach Aye wasn't happy with the Hawks first half performance but whatever the coaching staff had to say at halftime worked wonders as the Hawks outscored the Bearcubs 40-20 in the second half. Gerard Andrus led the way with 23 points for the Hawks and Johann Tate hit several big three's midway through the second halt to propel the Hawks into sole possession of first as Sierra college lost on the road to San Joaquin Delta. Kenny Doss had a strong rebounding effort and Victor Wariso, who had two crucial freethrows in the waning seconds, played inspired defense as the game was on the line.

The Hawks travel to Sacramento City on Thursday to take on the Panthers with tip off at 5:30 pm. The following week the Hawks will have two home games for you to come out and see as American River visits on Tuesday and Sierra College comes to Clark Court looking to ground the Hawks.
