Bear Cubs height too much for Hawks in loss.

Santa Rosa almost doubled up on the Hawks with a 47-25 edge in rebounding including grabbing 12 offensive boards. The Bear Cubs domination on the boards was the major factor in their victory

The Bear Cubs took a nine point lead into halftime and the Hawks played it close the rest of the way. Even though it turned out to be an eight point victory several late free throws for Santa Rosa sealed the win as the Hawks were forced to foul while making their shots to have any any hope of victory.

Leondre Lintz led the way for the Hawks with 27 points on another excellent 50% shooting night. Lintz was 9 of 18 from the field which included 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. Lintz was perfect from the charity stripe with a 5 for 5 night, many of those after fouls while driving to the hoop. Lintz climbed to 8th in the state in FT% at 88.4%, just .5% from 7th place.

Jordan Roberson added 16 points for the Hawks hitting 3 of 7 from the 3 point arc. Robert Tolbert added 10 points and matched Victor Wariso with 6 rebounds for the team high.

The Hawks drop to 1-1 in Big 8 play and are 10-7 overall on the year.

Next up for the Hawks is a road game at Sac City on Tuesday at 5:30pm.
