As in many games in Big 8 Conference play this season, CRC has started off a contest strong, but then hit cold streaks offensively and find themselves needing to fight back in the 2nd half for victories. The Hawks found themselves with an early lead, but then slipped into a skid of missed shots. American River cut the deficit and eventually took the lead. The Hawks went into halftime down 33-23 to the visiting Beavers.
In the 2nd half, CRC used balanced scoring to claw their way back into the contest. They cut the deficit to 2 points with 8 minutes remaining, but unfortunately, CRC played from behind the rest of the way. Despite outscoring American River in the second half, the Hawks fell 71-63.
CRC drop to 2-7 in the Big 8 Conference and 6-13 overall. The Hawks have one more game on this 4-game home stand. Next game is this Friday at 5:30pm vs Diablo Valley.
