Road Win Pulls Hawks Closer to Postseason Berth

ROCKLIN (2-14) – The Hawks traveled to Rocklin for their final Big 8 Conference road game of the season as they took on Sierra College in Rocklin. The Hawks defeated the Wolverines 88-85.

In the first half, the contest was competitive. Sierra scored many of their points on shots in the paint and transition while the Hawks' offense was balanced with perimeter shots, post play, and transition points. The score remained close as the Wolverines led 41-38 at halftime.

In the second half, the Hawks kept the game close. The Hawks made an impressive 9-0 run in 1:31 over clock time to lead 55-51 going into a timeout by the Wolverines. Sean Granucci came off the bench and hit back-to-back threes to give the Hawks their largest lead of the game at 72-65 with 9:01 remaining. With shots from Hutt and Ohiri, CRC extended their lead to 78-68. Sierra kept the game within reach but the Hawks won 88-85.

Paul Ohiri had a double double with twenty-eight points and sixteen rebounds. Khari Hutt had seventeen points, two rebounds, five assists and one steal, Marcus Robinson had seventeen points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The next game for the Hawks is Tuesday as they take on American River College in Sacramento on Sophomore Night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.
