HAWKS BATTLE BACK TO FORCE DRAW AGAINST GOLDEN EAGLES

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The 2013 Cosumnes River College men's soccer faced their first test of the young season, and performed well, battling back to force a 1-1 draw on opening day.  The Hawks fell behind early on a Remi Mason goal, as Feather River took an early 1-0 advantage early in the first half.  However, the young CRC roster battled back, responding to tie the match at one late in the half.

Sophomore midfielder Eliezer Ramos scored off a deflection following a Hawks corner kick, netting the first ever goal at the newly-constructed CRC soccer fields.  Freshman defender Brad Burkhart recorded his first ever collegiate point, as he was credited with an assist on the goal.  Freshman goalkeeper Carter Giroux also had a standout performance in his collegiate debut, recording six saves in the match.

The Hawks will look to build on this match this Friday, when they travel to Redwood City to take on the Colts of Canada College.  They'll return home next Tuesday, when they'll play host to Butte.  Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 4.
