HAWKS HOST BEAVERS UNDER THE LIGHTS ON SOPHOMORE NIGHT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Leading up to the final conference game of the season, the Cosumnes River men's soccer team has been struggling recently with their Big 8 conference schedule.  The Hawks took their match against Delta, while dropping games to Santa Rosa and Modesto on the road.  CRC returns home looking to finish out the season with a conference win tonight, against cross town rivals American River College.

The Hawks look to rebound tonight against the Beavers of American River.  CRC was defeated by the Beavers earlier in conference 2-1, after going up 1-0 in the first half by a goal from Dalton Weber.  In the second half, ARC showed to be the more aggressive team and found the back of the net twice towards the end of the match, closing out the match with a free kick goal.  "We didn't stay within our team system, and started playing how ARC was," commented head coach Ron Preble following the match. "If we play our style of soccer, and not get into this rivalry match with ARC, we can get the win and split the season series."   ARC is coming off a 0-0 tie against Delta, and will look to repeat their win against CRC as they close out the regular season.

Today's match is scheduled at 7 PM, and will be played inside CRC Stadium on turf fields.  Tickets are available for $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children.  Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty.  There will be a giveaway of nachos, hot dogs and soft drinks at the event courtesy of Pepsi, while supplies last.  Parking permits are available at designated kiosks in the parking lots.
