THE HAWKS COME UP WITH A LATE GAME WINNER!

In an exciting Big 8 Conference game the CRC Hawks put on consistent pressure on the San Joaquin Delta College defense, and the Cosumnes River College Men's soccer team finally saw it pay off with a late goal for a 1-0 Big 8 Conference win on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks (3-2-1, 5-8-4) peppered Mustangs goalie Moses Hernandez, who came up with 10 saves to keep the outcome undetermined until extra time. The win kept the Hawks in the race for a Big 8 Conference title with two games remaining, and they will travel to Conference leading Modesto College on Friday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. game.

It looked as though it would remain a 0-0 tie after CRC's sophomore Derek Chu received a red card on a challenge in the 80th min.  But in extra time Hawks freshmen Christian Ramirez broke through the Mustang defense on a breakaway to only be pulled down from behind in the box forcing the referee to call PK in favor of the CRC Hawks.  With the game on the line sophomore Ander Seaz calmly stepped and scored the PK to secure the 1-0 win for the Hawks!
