HAWKS COME UP WITH A LATE GAME TIE AGAINST MUSTANGS

In a Big 8 Conference rematch, the CRC Hawks played a highly defensive game against the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs on Tuesday afternoon that remained tied till the very end, resulting in a 1-1 game. Keeping the ball on the opposition's side of the field through most of the game, the Hawks managed 11 shots on goal while the Mustangs had 0 shots on goal. With only three conference games remaining, the tie brings the Hawks conference record to 2-2-1, keeping them in second place as they travel to American River College on Friday at 4pm to take on the third place Beavers.

With the game tied 0-0 through the first half and into most of the second half, the Mustangs managed to break through the Hawks defense around the 70th minute of the match as Enrique Aguilar, with an assist from Mike Del Real, brought the Mustangs into the lead with the first goal of the match. It was a lead they only enjoyed briefly, as just minutes later in the 75th minute with an assist from Juan Flores, Eric Figueroa brought the Hawks a goal of their own. The two teams remained in a heated battle till the end, but neither managed to score another goal before it was over.
