Men win Soccer home opener 3-0.

The CRC men's Soccer team won their home opener in style with a 3-0 shutout over the Colts.

Antonio Welch had four saves on the four shots on goal he faced in the match as the Hawks played much better defense in their second match of the season as they are now 1-1 on the year.

Coach Ron Preble is pleased with the progress so far, "We played better and we're learning what we need to do, to be a good team. That comes with time and experience."

For the Hawks, Alexis Marquez got the scoring started in the 21st minute with an unassisted goal. Jesus Cota followed that with a shot that found the net in the 30th minute off an assist from Cameron Peuse. The hawks led by that 2-1 score at the half.

Ethan Krebs had the final goal for the Hawks in the 60th minute and it was unassisted as was Marquez earlier goal.

Next up for the Hawks is the Nor-Cal Community Clooege Showcase next weekend here at CRC. On Friday the Hawks will take on Bakersfield at 2pm on field number 5.

On Saturday CRC will battle Monterrey at 2pm on the same field.
