Hawks drop final regular Big 8 match 3-1

Facing the Santa Rosa Bear Cubs the Hawks needed to get out to a fast start and build on it from there. Preston Magonigal took care of the first part scoring his fifth goal of the year in the first minute of the match. 

Jacob Shanning had the assist on Magonigal's goal, his first of the year.

The Bear Cubs took it from there scoring almost 30 seconds later and twice after that winning by a 3-1 final score.

The Hawks were out shot by a 21-8 margin with Hawks goalie Antonio Welch facing 7 shots on goal garnering 4 saves on the day.

The Hawks ended the year with a 8-9-4 record overall and a third place finish in the Big 8 Conference with a 3-4-3 record.

The only team from the Big 8 to advance in the playoffs was the league winner Santa Rosa who is the number 4 seed.
