Late Falcons PK Seals the 2-1 Comeback Win Against the Hawks

(Folsom)- Friday night the CRC Men's Soccer team suffered a tough defeat on a 91st minute Pk to the Falcons of Folsom Lake College.

The Hawks were dominate in the 1st half as they could've taken the lead though a thunderous header by #7 Hierberto Trevino to only be denied by the crossbar.

However in the 2nd half, the Hawks took the lead in the 56th minute by good pressing up the field to win possession and found the feet of sophomore #11 Efrain Serrano who beautiful curled his 3rd goal of the season into the upper corner to take the 1-0 lead.

But Folsom didn't back down and after a 3rd corner-kick in a row they were able to equalize in the 68th minute.

Both teams where dishing out the tackles as a total of 6 cations (3 to each team) were handed out.

There was drama late as in the 90th minute #11 Efrian Serrano was shown a red card for using his hands to stop a goal. The Flacons where able to capitalize and the game ended 2-1 to the Falcons.

"These are one of those games where the boys did everything we asked them to do but moments where were lack concentration and communication came back to bite us." Coach Ron Preble  was happy with the way his team played and believed "…. a tie at worse based on how well the guys played but mistakes like the ones that happened today can be game changing and today they were."

Hawks GK Hector Grajeda recorded 8 saves in the loss.

Next up for the Hawks is a home match against American River College on Tuesday at 4 pm!
