(Sacramento) - The men's soccer team bounced back from a disappointing loss on Friday to get a big win against rivals American River College
The first half showed both teams trading goal scoring chances with the best coming by American River in the 17th minute when Hector Grajeda tipped a free kick that struck the post.
In the second half, the Hawks piled on the pressure and in the 76th min, sophomore Kevin Medina had his shot hit the back of the net for the 1-0 lead assisted by freshmen Francisco Comparan.
In the 90th minute, sophomore captian Dylan Mello scored to extend the Hawks' lead to 2-0.
Freshmen goalkeeper Hector Grajeda recorded three saves for his fourth shutout of the season.
Friday the Hawks host the Pirates of Modesto Junior College at 4 pm
