Comparan's Brace Give Hawks Vital Conference Win.

(Sacramento)- The CRC men's soccer team entered today's match knowing they need to treat every game as if it's a playoff game, and they started off on the right foot beating Santa Rosa Junior College 2-1.

From the opening whistle the Hawks were ready for the challenge as they could've been up 2-0 inside 20min after #13 Alvaro Ascencio was involved in 2 glorious scoring chances.

But in the 25th min #11 Efrain Serrano Jr was shown a red card for decorum and the Hawks playoffs hopes looked to be that much tougher. But the Hawks were up for the challenge.

In the 35th minute freshmen #24 Francisco Comparan converted his 2nd of the season off a great pass from freshmen #6 Lincoln Carvalho. Commparan was able to double the lead in the 59min when he was able to capitalize from a slip by the defender to give the Hawks the 2-0 while down a player.

But in the 64 min the Bear Cubs were able to get one back to make it for an interesting 25 minutes. Both teams exchanged scoring chances and fouls as there were a total of 8 second half fouls and 5 yellow cards.

At the end the Hawks were able to hold off for the big 2-1 conference win. The win puts the hawks at 3-2-1 in Big 8 play and 6-7-4 overall.

Hawks travel to American River College on Halloween for another vital Big 8 conference play
