(Modesto)- The CRC men's soccer team knew anything less than a win would see their post-season ambitions disappear and end their season even with one game left to play on Friday. That motivated the Hawks to score a season-high 5 past the Pirates of Modesto JC in their 5-0 win.
Freshmen #18 Christopher Reveles was finally able to get the monkey off his back and scored his 1st goal of the season inside 15 minutes. Five minutes late #24 Francisco Comparan was able to continue his goal scoring streak registering his 6th goal of the season before #6 Lincoln Carvalho curled in a free-kick to make it 3-0 inside 30 min.
At the start of the 2nd half the Pirates caught the Hawks asleep and had a glorious chance to get one back, but the effort sailed over the goal. In the 60th min #16, Osamah Al-Janabi finishes his effort from a cornor to make it 4-0. Comparan wasn't finished yet scoring and tallied his 7th of the season and 3rd two goal game of the season finishing off the Pirates 5-0.
Gk #0 Hector Grajada made 2 saves for the 65 minutes of action before #1 Robert Sams finished off the match and was able to preserve the shutout making 3 saves.
Hawks final regular season game is this Friday home to Folsom Lake College in a must win. The win will put the Hawks in a strong position for the post-season soccer. Kick off is at 3 pm at Hawks soccer stadium.
