Last Second Strike Puts Hawks Post-Season Hopes In Jeopardy

(Sacramento)- The CRC men's soccer team were seconds away to a 1-0 win before Folsom Lake College scored with the last kick of the game.

It was a very physical match with the Hawks penalized for 15 fouls and three yellow cards while the Falcons called on 18 fouls and 6 yellow cards.

The Hawks dominated play in the first half registering five shots to the Falcons two and creating two great goal scoring opportunities.

In the second half, the Hawks were able to get the goal they were looking for when Freshmen #23 Samuel Perez provided an inch-perfect cross to find Freshmen #18 Chris Reveles at the back post where he sent his header to the back across giving the Hawks the vital 1-0 lead.

The Hawks had plenty of chances to seal the win with two coming in the last 10 minutes of the game. But unfortunately, they were to rue for their missed chances as the Falcons were given a questionable foul 20 yards away from goal in the 90 minute. The deflected effort wrong-footed #0 Hector Grejada and found the back of the net.

With that result, the Hawks post-season hopes up are in the air until Tuesday's conference meeting. The CRC men's soccer team finished the regular season 8-7-6 and 5-2-3 in conference play.

Go Hawks!
