MONTEREY (9-4) - The CRC men's soccer team needed to respond from a difficult result on the road on Friday. They did in a big way.
The Hawks were ready at the opening whistle. The Hawks had goals from sophomore Ivan Gutierrez, in the 20th minute, and freshmen Roy Rangel, in the 28th minute, and sophomore Lincoln Carvalho, in the 40th minute. Carvalho and Rangel's goals were their second of the season.
The second half became the Daniel Ramirez show has the freshman scored three times in the half as the Hawks' defeated the Lobos 6-0.
Coach Ron Preble was very happy with their performance and response from Friday, "You can tell the boys were still feeling it from Friday. It was a great learning lesson and it was something that drove the boys to play the way they did tonight."
The Hawks return home to host the CCCAA NorCal Collegiate Showcase on Friday and Sunday. On Friday, the Hawks host Hartnell College and on Sunday, they will host De Anza College. Both matches will begin at 11 am at CRC Soccer Complex.
