Men's Soccer tops CCSF in Hard Fought Win

SAN FRANCISCO (9-11) - Looking to continue their winning ways, the Cosumnes River men's soccer team looked to make it two wins in a row when they traveled to San Francisco to take on the Rams of City College of San Francisco.

Coach Ron Preble said, "It was a sloppy 1st half of soccer." The Hawks were a victim of their own poor action through a combination of a high press by the Rams and poor decisions on and off the ball. The Hawks looked to strike going forward so there was hope in the second half. Hector Grajeda had to make two first half saves to keep the score 0-0.

In the second half, the Hawks seemed to find their groove and took control of the match. The deadlock was broken in the 68th minute when Jubilee Emojong was able to capitalize on his long-range effort scoring the only goal of the match and his second of the year. The Hawks' defense had their work cut out for them facing a slew of opportunities. Grajeda made four saves in the match and earned his second win and shutout of the season.

The win improved the the Hawks' record to 3-2-1.

Next up for the Hawks is another away match as they look to make it three wins in a row, but this time in Southern California as they make the trip to Santa Clarita to face College of the Canyons on Friday.
