SANTA CLARITA (9-14) - The CRC men's soccer team traveled down to Santa Clarita to take on College of the Canyons. The Hawks won 2-0 for their third win, and shutout, in a row.

The Hawks were coming off a 1-0 victory over City College of San Francisco in San Francisco.

Inside the first ten minutes of the match, Lincoln Carvalho capitalized on a free kick for his third goal of the year to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.

Late in the second half, Daniel Ramirez sealed the game in the 80th minute after a pass from Ivan Gutierrez to secure the 2-0 win.

Hector Grajeda was called to action facing ten shots and made two saves in the match.

Coach Ron Preble was happy with his team's trip in Southern California, "This was a good bonding experience for the boys and very happy to come out with the win. I felt that we were a little slow to start the game but having that early goal really settled our nerves."

Next up is the beginning of Big 8 Conference play as the Hawks play host to the defending conference champions Folsom Lake College on Friday at 4 pm.
