Hawks Look To Continue Playoff Push Against Mustangs

SACRAMENTO (11-8) – Cosumnes River is down to their final regular season game of the year Friday as they take on San Joaquin Delta College at home at 3 pm. The match holds playoff potential as the Hawks look to secure a berth in the 2018 CCCAA Men's Soccer Championship.

Coach Ron Preble spoke to his team and stressed the importance of their final three games. "I basically told them this, you have three games left of your regular season and now its playoff time. Every game is a playoff game and if we want to continue to play after November 9th, we need to pick up results in our final three games."

Since the 2-0 loss to Folsom Lake College, the Hawks played to a 2-2 draw with Modesto Junior College in Modesto and had a 2-1 win over Santa Rosa Junior College in Sacramento to give the Hawks a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Preble continued, "If you would've told me at the beginning of the year that a result in our final game of that year, which happens to be a home game, would have us having a chance to make the playoffs, I would like those odds with this team. A three-game unbeaten run could be just what we need to bring with us into the playoffs, but first a result over San Joaquin Delta College is what our focus in on, and all I can say is that these boys are ready for the challenge."

Come out and support the Hawks in what will be an exciting spirited match between two good programs on Friday at 3 pm.
