Hawks Fall to Bear Cubs 8-1

SANTA ROSA (2-5) - Cosumnes River traveled to Santa Rosa to take on Santa Rosa Junior College. The Bear Cubs won five singles matches and won 8-1.

The Bear Cubs won five singles matches while the Hawks won one. In the #5 singles match between Chia Vang of Cosumnes River and Zoltan Williamson of Santa Rosa, Vang defeated Williamson 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. In the #1 singles match between Kien Dang of the Hawks and Alex Trinh of the Bear Cubs, Trinh defeated Dang 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. In the #2 singles match between Kyle Lopez of Cosumnes River and Dat Tran of Santa Rosa, Tran defeated Lopez 6-4, 6-1. In the #3 singles match between Steven Vang of the Hawks and Arthreya Rangavajhula of the Bear Cubs, Rangavajhula defeated Vang 6-1, 6-0. In the #6 singles match between Kee Thao of Cosumnes River and Jarrett Anderson of Santa Rosa, Anderson defeated Thao 6-4, 6-3. The tightest singles match was the #4 singles match between Mac Samson of the Hawks and Jacob Saunders of the Bear Cubs. Saunders defeated Samson 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).

The Bear Cubs won all three double matches that were played. In the #1 doubles match between Dang and Lopez of Cosumnes River and Rangavajhula and Tran of Santa Rosa, Rangavajhula and Tran defeated Dang and Lopez 8-5. In the #2 doubles match between Samson and Steven Vang of the Hawks and Saunders and Trinh of the Bear Cubs, Saunders and Trinh defeated Samson and Steven Vang 8-2. The tightest doubles match was the #3 doubles match between Thao and Chia Vang of Cosumnes River and Anderson and Williamson of Santa Rosa. Anderson and Williamson defeated Thao and Chia Vang 9-8 (8-6).
