Strong Hitting Leads Hawks To A Sweep on Day 2 of the Season

The Hawks bats were alive on day 2 of the season, and swept 2 games both of which were run ruled in 5 innings. The first game of the day the Hawks pounded out 12 hits and beat Rio Hondo 10-1 in 5 innings. In game 2, the Hawks pounded out 13 hits and beat West Hills 8-0, again in 5 innings.

Game 1 against Rio Hondo, Kaitlin Pires lead the top of the line-up going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's, and the middle of the line-up filled the rest of the scoreboard with Courtney Beatty providing a solo home run, Raechel Hooper going 2 for 3, Aimee Hutchinson going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's, and Dani Medina going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Amiee Hutchinson got the win on the mound for the Hawks.

In Game 2 against West Hills, Makenna Noya and Lindsey Lambert provided the numbers with Noya blasting a 3 run home run to left-center field while going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's, and Lindsey Lambert went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI's. Amber Wright helped fill the bases with a 2 for 3 day. Angelica Dark got the win on the mound for the Hawks throwing a 2-hit shutout.

The Hawks completed opening weekend with a 3-1 record, and head to Solano College for a 2 pm game on Thursday. Then, the Hawks host San Jose City College in a double header Friday with the first game beginning at 12 pm.
