Hawks Bounce Back With Sweep Of DVC

The Hawks swept Diablo Valley College in different fashion with a game 1 7-0 win and a come from behind 5-4 victory in game 2.

The Hawks put up all their runs in the first 3 innings in game 1 with a 2-run triple by Raechel Hooper in the 1st inning, a RBI single by Kaitlin Pires and 2-run single by Aimee Hutchinson in the 2nd inning, and a 1-run double by Brenda Velasquez in the 3rd inning.

Aimee Hutchinson shutout DVC on 4 hits and 5 strikeouts to get the win.

Game 2 the Hawks jumped out early with 2 runs scored, one on a double by Aimee Hutchinson after Amber Wright's single, and then a single by Lindsay Lambert in the bottom of the 1st innings. The game remained scoreless until the top of the 4th and 5th when DVC posted 2 runs each to take a 4-2 lead. The Hawks picked up a run in the bottom of the 6th inning with a double by Hutchinson and a run scoring double by Lambert. 

The Hawks entered the bottom of the 7th down 4-3 when DVC committed 2 errors to cost a run to tie the game. On an infield hit by Kaitlin Pires and a walk to Hutchinson, set the table with the bases loaded for Raechel Hooper to drive a ball to right-centerfield gap to score the winning run in a 5-4 victory. 

Aimee Hutchinson came in relief of Angelica Dark and got the win.

On the day, Hooper was 4 for 8 with 4 RBIs, Hutchinson was 4 for 6 with 4 RBIs, Lambert had 3 RBIs, and Wright was 4 for 8. Hutchinson picked up 2 wins.
