Hawks Battle Feather River To Take Two

Quincy, CA

After a quick turnaround from the upset at Modesto, The Hawks rebounded to battle Feather River and takes 2 games with a 4-2 win in 8 innings and a 5-3 win in game 2. 

Game 1 saw a pitching battle between Brittany Baroni and Emily Mitchell of Feather River with each pitcher going 8 innings. Baroni threw a 3 hitter, striking out 5 and allowing 1 earned run while Mitchell gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits and striking out 6.

Miranda Rodriguez provided the offense for The Hawks in game 1 going 2 for 4 and putting up 2 RBIs which included a triple in the top of the 8th inning to take the lead 2-1.

In game 2 The Hawks put up 5 runs on 8 hits enroute to a 5-3 win. Lindsay Lambert went 2 for 3, Miranda Rodriguez went 2 for 4, and Courtney Beatty went 2 for 4 while each collected 1 RBI apiece.

Ashleigh Berg picked up the win going 5 innings giving up 8 hits, striking out 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Brittany Baroni picked up the save going 2 innings allowing no hits and striking out 3.

The Hawks will take their 16-5 record back into conference play where they are 4-3 Friday at CRC Stadium. The Hawks will face Diablo Valley College in a double header with game 1 scheduled to start at 12:00 pm. Fans can follow along on GameChanger.
