Walk-Off Grand Slam, 30th Win, Sophomore Day

The Hawks picked-up their 30th win of the season with a 10-0 win over Santa Rosa College in 6 innings to wrap-up their regular season and conference play. 

The Hawks entered the bottom of the 6th inning with a 4-0 lead when Miranda Rodriguez started things off with a triple to left center field. Then, Alexus Acosta grounded out to the right side of the infield to score Rodriguez. Courtney Beatty and Chelsea Martinez both walked to put runners on 1st and 2nd base. Taelor Ford singled to left field to advance Beatty and Martinez. With based loaded, Lindsay Lambert walks to score Beatty. With the score 6-0 and the bases loaded, Veronica Smith crushed a ball to left center for a walk-off grand slam to end the game 10-0 in 6 innings.

Taelor Ford and Veronica Smith lead the way for The Hawks both going 3 for 4 and both picking-up 4 RBIs apiece.

Brittnany Baroni picked-up the win throwing a 4-hit shutout and striking out 3 batters. Baroni picked-up her 16 win of the season against 4 losses.

The Hawks celebrated Sophomore Day by recognizing, left to right, Alexus Acosta, Kaylee Mustard, Chelsea Martinez, Lindsay Lambert, Courtney Beatty, and Alex Scardina for their contribution to the softball program and Cosumnes River College.

The Hawks finish the regular season with a overall record of 30-8 and a conference record of 18-6 which give The Hawks a 3rd place finish in the Big 8 Conference.

The Hawks have been ranked in the Top 10 in the statewide polls for the entire season and currently sit #3 in the Northern CA RPI rankings. The Hawks will await the seeding for Round 1, Regionals, of the playoffs which will take place this Saturday in San Mateo. The results of the seeding will be posted as soon as they become available.
