Preview: CCCAA Northern California Softball Super Regionals

This Week: The Hawks advanced to the CCCAA Northern California Softball Super Regionals. The Super Regionals will begin on Friday and the Hawks-Ohlone match up will begin at 4 pm.  

Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks came in third in the Big 8 Conference regular season standings with a 30-8 overall record and a 18-6 record in conference play. Sophomore Courtney Beatty leads the Hawks with a .487 batting average. Freshman Brittany Baroni leads the Hawks in ERA with a 2.56 ERA.

Scouting the Renegades: Ohlone finished with a 25-13 overall record and a 6-8 record in Coast Conference-North Division play. Sophomore Isabel Gonzalez-Velarde lead Ohlone with a .414 batting average. Freshman Nalani Scates leads all Ohlone pitchers with a 1.04 ERA.

Last Time Out: This is the first meeting between the two schools this season. The two schools have ten common opponents in Butte College, Cabrillo College, College of San Mateo, Diablo Valley College, Feather River College, Modesto Junior College, San Joaquin Delta College, San Jose City College, Santa Rosa Junior College and Sierra College. The Hawks went 20-7 against those opponents while Ohlone went 11-7.

About The Coaches:

Kristy Schroeder is in her seventh season as head coach. She had previous coaching stops at Truman State University and UC Santa Barbara.

Julie Marshall is the head coach for Ohlone.
