Hawks Season Comes To Abrupt End

Stockton, CA

After a dramatic win Friday night in 14 innings over Ohlone College 5-4, The Hawks were unable to generate the offense needed and lost to Delta College in game 3 of the winners bracket 6-1. With a rematch against Ohlone in game 5 of the losers bracket, The Hawks lost 1-0 to end their season.

Against Delta, The Hawks allowed Delta to score in the 1st and 2nd innings, and then saw Delta coast to the win 6-1. The Hawks came up with 5-hits and stranded 5 runners on-base. The bright spot for The Hawks was Lindsay Lambert's 2-3 at the plate. Brittany Baroni got the loss going 1 2/3 innings giving-up 4 hits and 3 earned runs. Ashleigh Berg finished the game going 5 1/3 innings and giving-up 5 hits and 3 earned runs.

Against Ohlone, The Hawks suffered the same lack of offense with 5 hits and stranding 5 runners on-base. Ohlone scored 1-run in the 3rd inning, and ended The Hawks season with a 1-0 win. Ashleigh Berg got the loss going 3 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run while Chelsea Martinez finished in relief going 3 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.

On the weekend, Lindsay Lambert hit .545 with a SLG% of .909. Lambert scored 3 runs with 2 RBIs, a double, and a home run.

The Hawks end the season with a record of 33-10. This is The Hawks 3rd 30 win season in a row. Several Hawk players will be continuing their careers at a 4-year college, but all are undecided at this point. As soon as their decisions are made, we will post their decisions.
