Hawks Drop Games to Golden Eagles

SACRAMENTO, CA

Cosumnes River College struggled to soar past the Golden Eagles in Friday's doubleheader.

In Game 1, the Hawks lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat to Feather River. The game was tied at three with Feather River batting in the top of the sixth when the Golden Eagles scored a run to pull ahead. Sophomore Amber Wright went 2-for-4 at the plate, leading CRC in hits. In addition sophomore Korina Krueg hit a double in the bottom of the 5th inning, scoring two runs for the Hawks. Freshman Gabby Montaie started in the circle for the Hawks, allowing four runs with one walk and one strikeout.

In Game 2 of the day, Feather River jumped to an early lead and although the Hawks threatned they were unable to recover. However, once again Korina Krueg proved to be an offensive force going 2-for-4 at the plate. CRC eventually fell the Golden Eagles 10-4. The Hawks look to regroup and regain momentum as they head to Butte College next Friday ( 2/9) for a doubleheader starting at 12pm!
