Hawks bounce back with two big wins

Game 1- San Jose City 1 CRC 5

In game 1 the bats came alive for the Hawks with 8 hits, and four walks. The scoring started in the 4th inning when Ashlee Kaiser and Cecilia Rivera started the inning off with back to back walks. A double by Veronica Smith scored Kaiser with runners on 2nd and 3rd Kylee Boykin Singles to center to score Rivera.

San Jose City scored their only run of the game the top of the 5th inning.

With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th the Hawks look to extend their lead. A single by Courtney Lozano and Amber Wright sets the table for an Ashlee Kaiser single and RBI to add to the lead.

In the bottom of the 6th the Hawks add two more runs on a Hannah Flynn single that scores Boykin and Lazano.

Ashleigh Berg gave up 1 run on two hits, with two strike outs in four and two thirds innings pitched. Gabby Montaie came in relief throwing two and one third innings giving up two hits and striking out two.

 

Game 2-San Jose City 3 CRC 5

After a big first game win the Hawks looked to complete the sweep. But San Jose wasn't going to make it easy. In the top of the 2nd San Jose took advantage of errors and timely hitting to score two runs. They add another run in the 3rd.


With San Jose leading 3-0 the Hawks looked to have a big inning. To get the scoring going in the bottom of the 5th Hannah Flynn walks, Amber Wright doubles and with runners on 2nd and 3rd Korina Krueg hits a double to score Flynn.  Making the score 3-1.

In the 6th inning the Hawks open up the scoring with singles from Taelor Ford, Veronica Smith and tough battle leads to a Flynn walk. With bases loaded DH Devyn Nichols doubles to give the Hawks the 4-3 lead. With Wright on 2nd Kaiser singles knocking in one.   

Ashleigh Berg started the game going two and a third innings allowing three runs on five hits, and striking out one. Gabby Montaie got the win for the Hawks giving up no runs on three hits and striking out three  over four and two-thirds innings pitched.
