Second baseman Mary Baccay has signed to play for Concordia University in Irvine, CA after a successful career at Cosumnes River College. Baccay was named second-team all-conference by the Big 8 after her 2022 season.
"I'm really proud of Mary. She has landed in great spot. Concordia has a very good Division II program," said head coach Kristy Schroeder. "She is the second alum we have sent to the Eagles and they are going to benefit from her hitting and winning experience."
Baccay started in 39 games for CRC in 2019 season in which she hit .371 for the Hawks. After a two-year hiatus, she returned in 2022 right where she left off hitting .358 with 21 RBI and leading the team in triples with three. The Hawks qualified for the playoffs in both of her seasons, and she led the team to 47 wins during that time span.
