SOFTBALL AFTER CRC

At its best, collegiate athletics is vehicle to help students achieve their potential in sports and life. Over the past 10 years, the Cosumnes River College (CRC) softball program has done just that by helping numerous athletes gain scholarships to four-year universities. Since Coach Kristy Schroeder took over the head coaching job in 2011, over 15 softball players have played at either the NCAA or NAIA levels. Coach Schroeder understands that there are many different reasons for student athletes to attend CRC.

In fact, she believes this is why her team is so successful, saying, ?The success our softball team has motivates the girls to want to play at a higher level, but our focus on academics also shows girls the opportunities that life provides outside of softball.?

As the leader of the team, Coach Schroeder wants the best for each and every one of her players. ?It is exciting to see what my players go on and do in their lives, whether it be playing softball at a four-year university or just getting a degree. I try to stay in touch with all of my past players because of the strong connection that we made during their time playing for me.?

This philosophy has paid off for the CRC Hawks and can be seen by the team?s consistent success and the number of players that have gone on to play softball at a higher level. Below is a list of student-athletes that have been recruited to play softball at the next level with the help and guidance of the CRC Softball Staff.
